    Job Description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, FLUID INTERFACES, Media Lab (part-time, 20 hrs/wk.), to provide administrative support for the Fluid Interfaces group. Led by Professor Pattie Maes, the highly interdisciplinary team explores how digital technologies might support cognitive functions such as attention, memory, learning, decision making, creativity, communication and more. Responsibilities include managing the day-to-day spending for the group according to Media Lab Finance and MIT procedures and compliance policies; scheduling and coordinating principal investigator and group calendars, including monitoring deadlines and important events; and coordinating and facilitating communications (in-person, virtual, telephone, etc.) and meetings with collaborators, both domestic and international. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of administrative, office, or related experience; excellent problem-solving, organizational, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills; discretion, diplomacy, and tact with confidential/sensitive information; excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google workspace; and comfort using new software. Seek a detail oriented self-starter who is able to manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively with a creative and diverse group of people. PREFERRED: associate’s or bachelor’s degree; experience with SAPgui, Concur, and Dropbox; and experience in the education sector.
