FURUNO USA Field Service Technician (Light Marine) in Camas, Washington

Furuno USA, Inc. a nationally recognized leader in the marine electronics industry is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Light Marine Field Service Team.

Position: Light Marine Field Service Technician -- Location: Camas, Washington

Position Summary:

This is a non-supervisory position whose primary responsibility is to repair Furuno leisure market equipment in the field. This position provides technical support for all Furuno products both light marine & commercial, via telephone, e-mail and in person.

Major Responsibilities

  • Travel to customers' boat yard or vessels to provide equipment training or repairs in support of Furuno Service and Sales effort.
  • Recommend solutions for shipboard equipment concerns.
  • Provide technical assistance via telephone, e-mail or onsite to assist with installation, training, troubleshooting and repair of Furuno products.
  • Update personal knowledge base on all new products regarding installation, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Create training curriculum and conduct (instruct) technical training seminars/webinars.
  • Review customer complaints/equipment issues, recommend solutions and follow up with customer for satisfactory resolution.
  • Provide equipment testing and repair reports for Service Manager. Re-create field problems and determine resolutions.
  • Prepare trip reports for service and training excursions to inform all related personnel about performance issues/problems on various products.
  • Draft written responses, providing a resolution, to customers writing to Furuno about service-related issues, complaints or concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated
  • Electronics background with the ability to use hand tools and test equipment.
  • Be able to read and interpret basic system drawings.
  • Interpersonal skills...the ability to effectively communicate with people from all walks of life.

``` - Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. - Some higher education or vocational training specializing in marine trades, electronics, business or some combination of the above or a minimum of 5 years' experience in the marine electronics field is required.  - Military service, government service or service aboard seagoing vessels including direct experience with electronics may be substituted for education or training. - This position may require overtime and extensive computer work.

``` - Position requires some occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.  - A valid driver's license is required with an acceptable driving record. - A valid passport is a requirement of this position. - FCC license and GMDSS operator and maintainer's elements are preferred. FCC GROL (with ships radar endorsement) license would need to be obtained within first 6 months of employment.

This position is located in our corporate headquarters in Camas, WA facility.  Due to the nature of job duties this position will not be considered for hybrid work.

Salary Range for Light Marine Field Service Technician is $26.95/Hour - $41.14/Hour. Plus, annual discretionary bonus
