We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team in Camas, WA.  This role hybrid.  The pay range is $110,000-130,000/year.

Primary Function:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) sells the entire range of SIGMADESIGN services (design, engineering and manufacturing services, concept through production) to new and existing customers within a targeted market and / or region. This includes generating new leads, customer engagement and assessment, writing detailed proposals with quotes, all resulting in purchase orders. The BDM is also the customer relationship manager for assigned customers.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is to manage opportunities through defining customer requirements, developing and presenting proposals, quoting and closing with a purchase order from the customer.

  • Collaborate with customers through a strategic and consultative sales approach to understand their business needs, issues, strategies and priorities to deliver a value adding business solution. Provide excellent client service daily.

  • Manage opportunity through lead qualification to proposal stages of business development, ensuring that the team has the necessary background and documentation compiled to write a responsive, compelling proposal.

  • Manage sales funnel to analyze and manage pipeline activity. Forecast and monitor and report sales activity against objectives.

  • Acquire and integrate industry knowledge related to general trends, emerging technologies, markets & competitors.

  • Support further refinements and improvements of SIGMADESIGN’s business development process through participating in working groups, strategic planning efforts, and other internal reviews/assignments; also includes working with management to continually identify and implement BD process improvements.

  • Responsible for some lead generation by cold calling, attending industry networking events, and tradeshows.

  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurences

    Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

  • BA/BS Degree preferred in a technical or engineering discipline.

  • 5+ years of field sales and customer service experience, preferably in the product design/engineering industry.

  • Proven capability to engage in problem solving activities regularly and autonomously.

  • Proven ability to network, develop and maintain business relationships.

  • Experience giving presentations to key decision makers from engineering managers to C-level executives.

  • Set, pursue and follow through with achieving goals with a sense of urgency.

  • Advanced proficiency in customized CRM platforms such as NetSuite, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.

  • Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group.

  • Demonstrate commitment and adherence to SIGMADESIGN Core Values.

  • Pass a post-offer background verification.

    Work Environment

    Standard office environment with normal office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to travel for events such as tradeshows.
