Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health core values the Clinical Nurse III (CNIII) in DEMS is an RN with advanced skills who is an expert in emergency nursing care and is also capable of directing/coaching other DEMS staff in the daily operations of the unit. The CNIII facilitates the smooth operation of the nursing unit. The CNIII acts as a mentor preceptor and resource for the Clinical Nurse I and II as well as other staff members. The CNIII provides advanced consultation to other units and hospital staff regarding complex emergency patient care problems.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years current emergency nursing experience required.

  • Completion of DEMS competencies required within 6 months of employment.

  • Current California Registered Nurse license.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • ACLS PALS certification is required.

Preferred:

  • Spanish speaking experience is preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

  • CEN specialty certification preferred.

  • TNCC preferred.

Special Skills:

Demonstrates average competency level 2.75 in core RN competencies and competency level 3.0 in the required DEMS specialty competencies. Works independently within a decentralized nursing environment. Willingly and independently assumes the preceptor/mentor role for nurses in orientation temporary staff and novice emergency nurses. Applies and documents the Nursing Process independently in complex patient situations.

Pay Range

$49.45 - $70.39 / hour
