SAIC Technical Writer in CALIFORNIA, Maryland

Description

SAIC is seeking a NAVAIR Document Specialist in California, Maryland to support the update/creation of Navy Flight clearance products to support a key NAVAIR Customer with challenging requirements within the Airworthiness and Cyber Safe Directorate.

This position is contingent upon award news this Spring/Summer 2024.

This role will sit in California, Maryland with hybrid-remote capability. Candidate must sit near California, MD for as-needed onsite availability. A Secret clearance is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain NATOPS and NATIP flight manuals and associated derivatives in XML format

  • Meet with government customers during reviews and working groups capturing changes/updates

  • Audit materials for specification adherence and perform checks for anomalies and deviations

  • Reviewing format and layout of documentation to ensure accuracy of draft and final products for varied government deliverables

  • Migration of data from varied sources as provided into XML

  • Travel for various working group and reviews may be required

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree preferred; 3+ years of relevant experience required; additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

  • Ability to learn Arbortext XML Editor

  • Ability to become familiar with Naval Airworthiness Style Guides, MIL-DTL, Standard Work Packages, NATOPS/NATIP, Broadvision Quicksilver and Flight Clearance Process Guide

  • Adobe Acrobat

  • Microsoft Office

  • Minimum of a Secret clearance is required
