SAIC Software Developer Lead in CALIFORNIA, Maryland

Description

SAIC is seeking an experience Software Development Lead to lead our team supporting NAVAIR Airworthiness and CYBERSAFE Office software tools.

This role will sit in California, Maryland with hybrid-remote capability. Candidate must sit near California, MD for as-needed on-site availability.

This position is contingent upon award news this Spring/Summer 2024.

A minimum of a Secret clearance is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interface with the government customer with respect to project requirements, software design and development, test, and associated contract deliverables.

  • Manage development of and Electronic Flight Clearance, to include mobile apps in Android and iOS to achieve customer and fleet requirements, cost, schedule, and performance goals. Must follow a rigorous and traceable software development process.

  • Manage client expectations in daily interactions and sprint planning and review.

  • Plan and execute sprint planning and review sessions.

  • Establish a structure that increases efficiency and promotes proactive modifications.

  • Implement long term solutions and building blocks within the agile framework for improved reusability.

  • Coordinate with other projects to execute over all vision of the program.

  • Develop story points for AGILE sprints.

  • Apply forward thinking to suggest improvements to the processes, applications, and resulting products created by the project.

  • Manage and mentor junior software engineers and developers assigned to the team.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent or ability to obtain one of the following certifications NLT 60 days after performance start: CISSP, CSSLP, CISM, CompTia CASP+, GSLC

  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience to include leading a team of developers using Agile Scrum methodology.

  • Proven competency in architecture design, database model structure and selection of third-party components.

  • Two (2+) years’ experience with JavaScript and jQuery.

  • Proven ability to take ownership of the project and manage the customer relationship.

Required Clearance:

  • This position REQUIRES U.S. citizenship and, at minimum, an ACTIVE DoD Secret-level clearance
