SAIC Senior Flight Operations Specialist in CALIFORNIA, Maryland

Description

SAIC is currently seeking an experienced Flight Operations Specialist – Senior Level Product Developer (PD) to join a versatile team in support of the Airworthiness CYBERSAFE Office (ACO). Responsibilities will include but are not limited to updating and the creating of Navy Flight clearance products to support NATOPS platform requirements.

This position is contingent upon award news this Spring/Summer 2024.

Work will be performed local to the California, MD / Lexington Park, MD area only. Prospective non-local candidates may also be considered, if they possess outstanding skill-sets, qualifications, and a proven work history relevant to this position. Hybrid remote work is possible for the right candidate, but only after ACO PD empowerment requirements are achieved at the local site and approved by both SAIC management and our Government customer.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute the management and development of Interim Flight Clearances (IFC) and Permanent Flight Clearances (PFC) in the form of NATOPS or NATIP.

  • Develop required content and facilitate the Flight Clearance’s progression through engineering review for airworthiness approval.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for information regarding specific clearances for assigned platforms.

  • Create and present formal briefs in support of new or changing fleet capabilities and develop IFC/PFC content from program technical source data.

  • Track and ensure the transition of IFC content into the appropriate PFC.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE :

  • Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) years DoD Aviation Operator or Maintenance Management experience is required.

  • Ten (10) years DoD Aviation experience and an Associate’s degree may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Fourteen (14) years DoD Aviation experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with APME/AMPSE (Class desk), NAVAIR engineers and the Fleet users.

  • Ability to develop and follow implementation plans for configuration management of technical data.

  • Ability to perform in a team environment, demonstrate leadership, decision-making and self-starter qualities.

  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft (MS) and Adobe Acrobat products and possess a strong computer-use background to include using editorial and graphics software running on local, networked, or web-based platforms, and websites.

  • Possess the ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.

  • Active or current for Secret Security Clearance.

  • US Citizen.

  • Ability to travel periodically on an as required basis in support of your assigned program and platforms.
