BAE Systems Production / Installation Technician I / II in California, Maryland

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings for fabrication and installation of cable assemblies, components, and system integration.

  • Fabricate a variety of cable assemblies to include multi-conductor, coaxial, and power cables in accordance with military and DOD standards.

  • Perform as team member for shipboard and shore site system and cable installations.

The hourly rate for this position is set at $22.92 (Tech I) / $25.72 (Tech II) and is not negotiable.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

High school diploma and some related experience (candidates with at least 1 year of related experience fabricating a variety of cable assemblies to include multi-conductor, coaxial, and power cables may be considered for level II position)

Mechanical aptitude and some experience with a wide range of hand and power tools

Ability to pass BAE Systems solder and cable certification class (must be able to differentiate colors)

Ability to frequently work in a sitting, standing, and other various working positions

Ability to occasionally lift and carry 45 pounds

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and instructions

Soldering and cable fabrication experience

Pay Information

This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
