Amec Foster Wheeler Junior ICT Engineer/Technologist in Calgary, Alberta

Wood is currently recruiting for a Junior ICT Engineer/Technologist with experience in the oil and gas sector to join our Conventional Energy team in Calgary.

As a part of the Instrumentation Controls Telecom discipline, your responsibilities within the discipline will be as follows:

  • Aid in the development and technical content of the ICT portion of project work which may include:

  • Specify and select field instrumentation and control devices

  • Aid in preparation of control deliverables such as Control Philosophy, Control Narrative, Cause and Effect diagram, and Control system architecture

  • Learn about HazOp, LOPA, and SIL

  • Aid in preparing IO lists and assignments

  • Plan, coordinate and prepare equipment or work specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations for various equipment, instrumentation and controls

  • Perform squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines

  • Have frequent contact with vendors, and internal staff

  • Observation of technical support in FAT

The successful candidate will be a:

  • New graduate, Instrumentation Technologist / Bachelor’s in Science, Engineering

  • Able to problem-solve effectively

  • Has the ability to multi-task

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong computer skills and database knowledge

  • Understand process P&ID’s

  • Experience / Exposure to equipment communications and network systems

  • Understanding of Design Basis Memorandum
