Job Description:

OVERVIEW: Support the goals and objectives of the Sales & Catering department by providing professional, friendly, and efficient booking services to clients

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce group and convention business to include room sales, food and beverage sales, and catering services

  • Focus markets include all segments

  • Use creativity and initiative to explore new ways to increase revenue, including both proactive and

  • reactive selling and relationship building

  • Conduct site inspections

  • Obtain signed BEOs and Booking Contracts according to procedures established by the hotel

  • Convey information on the hotel and facilities, suggesting options and upselling accordingly

  • Quote and negotiate prices with clients within parameters

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure delivery of product and service

  • Conduct post-event business development calls to existing customers and resolicit and previous or current customers

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner according to established safe work practices.

  • Report any accidents, injuries, near misses and/or hazardous conditions.

  • Other related duties as necessary.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years hotel catering sales in the applicable markets.

  • Highly energetic, aggressive self-starter, well developed sales skills including negotiation, prospecting, presentation, and verbal & written communication

  • Reserving and communicating with reservations for all guestroom requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented with commitment to superior customer service,

  • Working knowledge of Lightspeed and CI/TY an asset

  • Post secondary education or diploma an asset

  • Computer literate; Microsoft Office, Work, Excel, Outlook, etc.

HOURS OF WORK:

  • Monday to Friday; however availability to work other days/times including weekends/evenings/holidays may be required based on customer needs and as determined by the Director of Catering.
