Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Superior MasterBUILT Hospitality, Inc. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, the Business Development Manager is responsible for proactively soliciting and converting new Corporate and SMERF (Social, Military, Education, Religious, Fraternal) opportunities and additional market segments as business requires including Special Corporate Groups and Meetings with significant revenue potential. From initial client contact to the handover of an event to the Event Planning team, the Business Development Manager will manage all aspects of new business generation from initial client contact to the handover of an event to the Event Planning team, including lead generation, quoting, and contracting. To be successful, the Business Development Manager will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment where results, recognition, and reward go hand in hand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in target segments to expand the hotel’s customer base

  2. Research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to develop effective sales strategies.

  3. Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to generate leads and convert them into sales opportunities.

  4. Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and potential clients through regular communication and networking.

  5. Understand client requirements and provide customized solutions to meet their needs.

  6. Address client inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns in a timely manner to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

  7. Develop and execute sales plans to achieve revenue targets and maximize profitability.

  8. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with clients to secure profitable deals.

  9. Prepare and issue event contracts on a timely basis and to agreed standards, along with deposit requests and ensure that contracts and any required deposits are returned by the agreed option dates

  10. Monitor sales performance and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

  11. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns and marketing materials to attract new customers and retain existing ones.

  12. Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and other industry events to promote the hotel and its services.

  13. Utilize digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, and online advertising, to reach target audiences effectively.

  14. Establish partnerships with local businesses, travel agencies, event planners, and other organizations to drive referrals and bookings.

  15. Negotiate and manage partnerships and sponsorships to enhance the hotel's brand visibility and reputation.

  16. Support Director of Sales in preparation of regular reports on sales performance, including reporting on KPI target results, market trends, and competitor activities for management review.

  17. Assist to drive revenue and increases market share across the segments of rooms, events, group, and other revenue generating sources in line with hotel budget.

  18. Develop effective group sales plans and actions in collaboration with Director of Sales and General Manager

  19. Be an ambassador for the Marriott brand and promote Marriott Bonvoy and affiliated offers during the proposal process
