    About the Job

    Provide full oversight of the Maintenance Department at the plant in the safest and most production way possible. Lead the maintenance efforts for the plant, manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), complete appropriate reports, note any deviations and/or abnormalities and take corrective action as necessary. Make recommendations to improve the performance of the area and site, as appropriate. Support operational excellence process improvement teams through active involvement and engagement.

  • Day to day supervision, planning and scheduling of work for maintenance and electrical department.

  • Maintain work orders in system; Writing/converting work orders, adding labor hours, entering part details to maintain consistency, print work orders for production.

  • Tracking and documenting Union Hourly timecards into Workforce Management (WFM) to ensure employees are paid properly. Attend/run daily maintenance meetings to review work schedule and priorities for planned work.

  • Ensures a proper preventative/predictive maintenance program (with adequate spare parts) is prepared and implemented to optimize equipment efficiency, reliability and availability while minimizing downtime and operating costs.

  • Checks that all parts are ordered correctly and, in a cost, efficient manner and prepares annual maintenance budget/capital plan. Meets controllable maintenance cost objectives and implements corrective action if required to reduce cost variances.

  • Analyzes equipment and/or system failures to determine root cause and then lead the efforts to develop solutions and actions to reduce or prevent reoccurrence of the failure.

  • Reviews mechanical and electrical emergencies and ensures required resources are allocated and repairs are performed in a timely manner to minimize production disruption.

  • Analyzes need for training, evaluates personnel, and corrects sub-standard performance.

    Required Qualifications

    Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Two-year college or technical degree preferred.

    Experience: 5+ years of Industrial Maintenance including supervisory responsibilities required.

    Certifications: Maintenance certifications preferred.

    Licenses: Valid Driver’s License required.

    Knowledge: Management and technical skills, including an ability to think ahead and plan over a specific time span with prepared action plans to achieve results. Motivating, developing, mentoring, and when necessary, disciplining employees. Welding knowledge is preferred.

    Skills: Must be able to use a computer and keyboard, Microsoft Office Suite, company specific software and reporting systems, and technical reference manuals, drawings, system schematics, etc.

    Abilities: A demonstrated ability to lead both salary and hourly employees and achieve results through others. An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, environmental, quality, productivity, cost efficiency and employee relations in a unionized environment.

    Behaviors: A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
