Who are we?

Capitol Distributing is the largest convenience wholesale distributor in Idaho. Founded in 1983, Capitol delivers to retailers across the Western United States from its 300,000 square foot distribution center in Caldwell, Idaho.

We are looking for a Superintendent to manage and oversee daily warehouse activities, ensure efficient processes, and maximize warehouse productivity. This individual will report directly to the Operations Manager and assist in leading our employees towards warehouse goals. This position will be responsible for managing Operation Supervisors and leads. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working both in office and directly in the warehouse.

S chedule:

Capitol Distributing is a 24/7 warehouse. We strive to provide a healthy work/life balance to our employees while also ensuring we meet business needs. The Warehouse Superintendent will be a full-time exempt employee assigned to a consistent schedule to meet business needs. This schedule can include days, swing, nights, and weekends.

Some of what you'll do as a Warehouse Superintendent:

  • Provide managerial oversight to an entire shift and crew of employees.

  • Develop and manage daily warehouse productivity.

  • Communicate and present reports directly to our warehouse leadership team.

  • Coordinate and resolve unexpected issues. Implement long term solutions.

  • Monitor and manage the performance of warehouse operation employees.

  • Gain a strong understanding of company technologies, equipment, and warehouse systems.

  • Act as a partner to the maintenance, kitchen, transportation, and office teams.

  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures ensuring safety in at the highest priority.

  • Partner with human resources on employee onboarding, training, and job satisfaction.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and implementing a strategic plan.

  • Multitask between daily operations and supporting multiple warehouse projects.

  • Perform numerous daily walkthroughs of the warehouse ensuring operations, safety, and employee needs are met.

  • Record notes, data, and other relevant information for shift reports.

  • Lead in the communication and coordination of employee meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    You'll be a great fit if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent working experience/certifications.

  • 3+ years of experience working in distribution, warehousing, or manufacturing.

  • 3+ years of leading employees, enforcing expectations, and assigning goals/objectives.

  • The ability to work in a warehouse including hot, cold, elevated, and fast-paced environments.

  • Experience working with operational software and Microsoft office suite.

  • An ability to strongly communicate (verbal & written) to employees and in company meetings.

  • Understanding the basic concepts of production and business financials.

  • Experience in managing schedules, timecards, and records.

  • The ability to multitask between responsibilities and projects.

  • An ability to be organized and delegate efficiently.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate company equipment such as a forklift, baler, conveyers, compactors.

  • The ability to lift to 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend/twist, and be on your feet most of the day.

  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
