Labcorp Quality Coordinator - Clinical Laboratory in Calabasas Hills, California

LabCorp is seeking a Quality Coordinator to join its team in Calabasas, CA! This position will be supporting Esoterix, a Labcorp Specialty Lab, that provides esoteric testing for hospitals and physician specialists, primarily specializing in endocrinology and GI testing. Esoterix goal is to provide premier laboratory services that positively impact patient care and cost-effective medical treatment. The QA Coordinator is an integral member of the Quality department responsible for the overall support and maintenance of Labcorp's controlled documents and the continuous assessment/improvement of related systems and processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

The schedule for this position will be: Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and tracks timely reporting of internal and external proficiency testing results, maintains accurate records of handling, reports and follow up.

  • Maintains document control system, including review, filing and archiving of data.

  • Keeps Quality Manager informed of any significant issues affecting overall laboratory quality including but not limited to audit findings, validations, corrective and preventative actions.

  • Works with department supervisors to assure new procedures are appropriately implemented and documented.

  • Prepares filing for necessary licensure, certification and/or accreditation as appropriate for the laboratory's test complexity.

  • Implements policies with respect to CLIA regulations, CAP accreditation FDA compliance, and/or specific state regulations, providing organizational tools, e.g., forms, guidelines, consultation assistance.

  • Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Labcorp, CLIA, CAP, ICH GCP, and other regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related life science

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a Quality position within a life science industry, or 1 year of laboratory experience within a clinical diagnostics laboratory

  • Previous experience in a clinical laboratory is highly preferred

  • General knowledge of laboratory regulations (CAP/CLIA/ISO) and licensing requirements

  • Basic understanding of audit related requirements and procedures

  • Working knowledge of quality assurance best practices and procedures

  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency with MS Office programs

Pay Range: $24.00-$34.00/hour
