Actalent Entry Level Lab Assistant in Calabasas, California
Actalent Scientific is looking for a Lab Assistant positions with a leading Diagnostics company in the Science field. This is a full-time position that will be paying $17/hr depending on experience to start. This is a contract role to start with potential for permanent hire based on performance. Main responsibilities include processing biological samples, data entry and lab duties.
Schedule options: Sunday to Thursday 8am - 4:30pm OR Tuesday to Saturday 8am - 4:30pm.
Previous lab, medical or healthcare experience is preferred. Great opportunity to gain experience or build your resume!

Description:
-Receive and process specimen shipments
-Specimen management and maintain specimen freezer archive
-Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
-Perform routine technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
-Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
-Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
-Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
-Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
-Assist with processing of specimens when needed
-Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
