Your Specific Responsibilities:

This incumbent is part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Sumter County in its mission to protect, promote and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community efforts and its vision to be the Healthiest State in the Nation. Furthermore, the incumbent is expected to incorporate the agency values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Responsiveness and Excellence in all aspects of their work.

Approves purchasing card charges in the WORKS as an Accountant within established time frames. Receives and verifies vendor warrants and mails to vendor. Processes invoices for payment through My Florida Market Place (MFMP) and Florida Accounting Information Resources (FLAIR) for payment. Match Vouchers in AXIOM with backup documentation and submit audited Vouchers to Voucher Packet Submission. Processes Medicaid Reimbursements to the State Pharmacy, Processes Insufficient Funds Letters and tracks progress. Completes Record Disposition paperwork for the Business Office. Performs quarterly change fund audits. Backup for Quarterly Pharmaceutical Inventory. Performs Quarterly Vital Statistics Reviews.

Monitors Florida PALM for outstanding transactions; electronic funds transfers and credit card transactions. Codes and inputs revenue into FLAIR using Transaction 30 with no more than three (3) errors per month. Backup preparer for local clearing fund deposits.

Processes Journal Transfers (JT) to reimburse State Pharmacy for funds received for pharmaceuticals and devices procured through Bureau of Public Health Pharmacy (BPHP). Prepares insufficient funds letters and maintains insufficient funds log.

Processes incoming/outgoing mail; stamps all mail with received date stamp and gives to appropriate staff member/department head when needed

Verifies that checks received on mail in log were deposited into local clearing account.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum -

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License

  • At least 1 year cash handling experience

  • At least 1 year experience working in a business or health care setting

    Preferred -

  • One year experience working with Purchasing Card WORKS, FLAIR, MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP)
