KLLM Transport Services Semi-Truck and Trailer Driving Instructor-Burns Harbor, IN in Burns Harbor, Indiana

Overview:

KLLM Transport Services is seeking qualified instructors to train prospective students at our Driving Academy in Burns Harbor, IN. Prospective instructors will be trained to teach Driving Academy students for Over the Road (OTR) driving.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide semi-truck and trailer instruction/training in the Driving Academy Program

Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule (rotational Saturdays mandatory)

Ability to teach classroom theory and provide hands on "driver operation" instruction

Ability to monitor/document student performance, evaluate driving knowledge, and document training records

Follow an approved course of study with measurable objectives

Provide assistance and instruction to students on training related matters, equipment and resources

Plan, develop, evaluate, and upgrade competency-based vocational training curriculum as necessary

Ability to manage and motivate students under strict deadlines in fast paced environment

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Qualifications:

Meet all minimum employment standard requirements for KLLM Transport Services

Possess a minimum 3-years recent driving history, with verifiable OTR tractor/trailer experience (non-negotiable)

Current Class A Commercial Driver's License required

Pass DOT drug screening and physical

High School Diploma or verified equivalent (non-negotiable)

Proven excellence in semi-truck and trailer safety (MVR verification)

Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and decision making skills

Ability to work outdoors in in-climate weather conditions, for extended periods

Ability to apply principles and standard industry semi-truck and trailer practices specific to driving instruction

Ability to effectively supervise and train students

Ability to administer instructional strategies and techniques of subject matter and course content

Selection, use, and evaluation of instructional materials and equipment

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Basic computer data-entry skills
