As part of an amazing network of 100 Road Assist team members, you'll share your genuine passion for helping others by providing friendly and professional roadside mechanical assistance or towing services to members of BCAA and affiliated clubs.

We are currently hiring a Road Assist Fleet Blocker based in our Burnaby Depot location (5590 Goring Street) .

As a Road Assist Fleet Blocker you’re part of the team that responds to BCAA Members requesting roadside assistance. You play a vital role in helping keep Members and their vehicles safe while BCAA technicians address the situation.

What you’ll do

  • Attend service calls on highways and local roads to support as a blocker vehicle, ensuring the safety of your fellow team members and BCAA Members.

  • Complete a traffic scene assessment to ensure the safety and position of vehicles, while working in close coordination with the Fleet Driver and Fleet Dispatch, and/or tow partners

  • Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service while maintaining BCAA’s high standard of service and safety.

  • Offer additional support in light service, out of gas, unlocks, and battery boost.

  • Shuttle vehicle, battery, parts, and equipment to support driver, member and fleet operations. You're confident navigating our cities and towns, regardless of the vehicle size, from two-seaters to 5-ton trucks.

  • Maintain general knowledge of BCAA’s products and services, as well as all Roadside Assistance operational policies and procedures.

  • Maintain care and control of BCAA equipment & documentation.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or related experience.

  • At least two years of related mechanic experience or an equivalent combination of education & experience.

  • A clean BC Driver License Class 5.

  • Bonus skills: Level 1 First Aid Training

The salary range for this position is $53,098.56 to $66,373.08  and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.
