Soil Health Laboratory Manager (#S5313PO)

UVMseeks an energetic individual to oversee laboratory operations of the newly launchedUVMSoil Health Research and Extension Center (SHREC), which provides soil health laboratory analyses for farmers, researchers, extension, and other agricultural professionals. This person will develop and adapt analytical procedures, provide cost estimates, perform data compilation and analysis, maintain lab instruments, including troubleshooting problems, routine calibration, and demonstrate usage for classes. Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in soil science, environmental sciences, or related field and three years of lab experience required or equivalentcombination of education and experience.Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, effective interpersonal and communication skills required to work with researchers, farmers and the general public. Desirable Qualifications: Advanced degree in soils or environmental sciences with experience in soil health-focused research. Experience with database programming and applications.
