Position Details

Posting Summary

Provide first response service for all building/utilities trades equipment and systems such as emergency calls and service calls; assess situation; provide repairs or contact appropriate personnel if situation mandates licensed repairs. Perform preventative maintenance service for all building trades. Access information utilizing computers. Promote a work place that encourages safety within the shop and in the field. Report to a Supervisor and operate University vehicle. May be required to operate an aerial lift. Actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

High school diploma and three years of experience in trades required. Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments in assessing and planning work. Experience using computers and mobile technology required. Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain and drivers check required. Lifting to 54 lbs. occasionally. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) when performing specific job functions. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check.

Desirable Qualifications

Anticipated Pay Range $23 to $28/hour

Other Information

Special Conditions Weekend work required, Bargaining Unit Position - United Electrical Workers, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, 2nd Shift (Shift differential applies.), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, 40 hour work week, Background Check required for this position
