The Physical Plant Department at the University of Vermont is seeking an individual for a full-time benefits eligible position as a HVAC Mechanic. This role will perform skilled installation, maintenance and repair of building heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and controls, as well as skilled maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment to include, chillers, freezers, refrigerators, coolers, etc. A HVAC Mechanic will confer with supervisor/s regarding all aspects of assigned duties and communicate with University campus partners regarding all aspects of requests.

High School diploma, Vermont Natural Gas Installer Certification, or ability to acquire within six months and three years experience in HVAC equipment and controls installation, maintenance and repair required. Refrigerant Recovery Certification required. Experience using computers and mobile technology required. Valid drivers license or ability to obtain and drivers check required. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check.
