Posting Summary

Provide administrative and financial support to the Vermont Center for Cardiovascular and Brain Health ( VCCBH ) Center of Biomedical Research Excellence ( COBRE ), which aims to build a sustained research center at UVM to make important scientific discoveries through Core Facilities, research projects, and pilot grant awards. Assist VCCBH Principal Investigators (PIs) and COBRE faculty with day-to-day operations. Organize and schedule meetings, seminars and symposium events. Arrange travel, as required. Create and maintain website. Provide purchasing support. Maintain reallocation of COBRE PurCard expenses. Process travel and expense reimbursements. Prepare monthly budget reports and monitor expenses of cores facilities and research projects. Interface with UVM Sponsored Project Administration ( SPA ). Report to a Department of Medicine Post-Award Business Manager with functional supervision from the COBRE PIs and Program Director.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Associate’s degree in financial or business field with one to three years of related experience required. Effective mathematics skills required. Effective communication, time management and organizational skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required. Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy required.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience with research grant preparation and budget management in an academic setting highly desirable. Interest in digital communication.

Anticipated Pay Range $20 to $25/hour

Special Conditions Contingent on continued funding, Bargaining unit position, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Background Check required for this position
