Job Overview

Manager, Price/Trade Strategy – Coffee

Position Location: Burlington, MA (Hybrid role 3 days in the office, 2 days work from home)

Reports To: Senior Manager, Price/Trade Strategy – Coffee

The Manager, Coffee Price/Trade Strategy is responsible for developing the pricing and promotional strategy for KDP’s coffee category across all consumption formats. This includes single serve coffee pods, bagged coffee, canned coffee, and other emerging consumption formats, and spans across all routes to market. The Manager will also be responsible for evolving KDP’s coffee category pack/price architecture to maximize opportunities across Occasion, Brand, Price, Pack and Channel (OBPPC). This role requires a deep and proactive financial understanding of retail pricing requirements and commercial economics.

What you will do:

  • Create annual and long-term pricing and promotional strategies to optimize KDP’s topline performance and overall profitability of the business.

  • Partner with Sales and Field RGM teams to optimize and execute promotional strategies across all channels, including e-commerce, club, grocery, mass merchants and department/specialty stores

  • Act as liaison between commercial and brand teams to ensure consistent performance management routines and align sales, brand, and financial objectives to drive the best business outcome

  • Ensure that all promotional and pricing decisions are coherent across the marketplace, achieve acceptable financial results, and share objectives (i.e. Trade Review Board)

  • Partner across finance, supply chain and partners management teams to develop and evolve the company’s pack/price architecture for all coffee (OBPPC)

  • Develop and monitor pay for performance elements of funding. Ensure programs are equitable, transparent, and measurable

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited US or international university

  • Minimum 4 years of Finance, Consulting, Sales, Strategy, Marketing, and/or Commercial experience

  • Experience in consumer goods (CPG) or retail products strongly preferred, and beverage industry knowledge a plus

  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills with excellent communication skills (ability to simplify the complex and provide clarity across written, oral, & visual communications)

  • Outstanding collaboration skills, with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across business lines to manage expectations and accomplish shared goals

  • Self-motivated and driven with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and changing environment

  • Tolerance for ambiguity and ability to resolve complex issues with clear commercial-centered solutions

  • Familiarity and ability to leverage Circana (IRI), Numerator, & other 3rd party data sources for insights & selling stories a plus

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
