Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) brings together diverse and interdisciplinary teams to create the future of augmented and virtual reality. We’re seeking a Technical Project Manager to design and drive technical workflows and operations which are at the foundation of developing our Global Historical Archive (GHA) product. Our GHA team is working with global partners and stakeholders to empower people to be able to connect with and share global heritage sites in VR. As a Technical Project Manager on GHA, you will drive at the forefront of needs that emerge during product development (designing launch workflows, sprint operations, dataset pipelines, etc.); define product requirements and deliverables; schedule and track product progress; coordinate collaborations across teams; manage partner and vendor relationships; and more. To be successful, you will be eliminating barriers to our team's success, clearly communicating results to all stakeholders, and ensuring the big picture stays in team focus while delving into the details on specific projects. Ideal team members are adaptable and resilient, eager to attack unfamiliar problems with curiosity and tenacity, committed to regular reflection and improvement on collaborative workflows, and able to use a light touch to find ways to help our team drive better outcomes. You’ll certainly influence many areas of the GHA product but, in direct collaboration with our team’s management, you’ll also have a unique goal: our team’s workflows and operations will be your products to collaboratively develop.

Required Skills:

  1. Drive Excellence in Technical Project Management: work with teammates across disciplines (design, engineering, etc.) to define and execute product solutions, workflows, and operations in ambiguous technical areas. Establish collaborative practices and habitually iterate on those to enable better outcomes for our team and product. Our team will look to you as a driver of regular excellence, reflection, and evolution in our workflows and operations.

  2. Drive High Priority Projects and Progress: proactively define and work on projects across our product (technology, legal, logistics, communications, etc.). Dive into ambiguous product areas with teammates and drive solutions which solve for risks and maximize emergent opportunities.

  3. Drive Healthy Team Communication and Operations: collaboratively design and execute systems to ensure product progress and documentation is complete, current, accurate, and accessible to teammates. Coordinate communication and understanding of requirements across cross-disciplinary teammates and work with teammates to manage through ambiguity and conflict when needed.

  4. Contribute to Product Direction and Growth: work with teammates to define and execute product objectives, key results, opportunities, and risks. You’ll be critical in decision-making and team growth through your ability to provide full visibility of schedules, progress, risks and opportunities, resource needs, and technical tradeoffs.

  5. Contribute to Team Learning as a Core Value: educate cross-disciplinary teammates about best practices, welcome the same from teammates in different disciplines, and contribute to a teamwide culture of learning and development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years experience with designing and deploying technical operations and workflows for technology products: sprint management (Asana, backlog grooming, etc.), reporting pipelines (dashboards, IFTTT, virtual assistants, etc.), product documentation (Google Drive, interactive whiteboards), etc.

  2. 3+ years experience in a role demonstrating extensive communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

  3. 3+ years experience with synthesizing, prioritizing, and acting on a variety of stakeholder and resourcing considerations in evolving product areas.

  4. 3+ years experience in handling ambiguity and self-starting solutions while demonstrating extensive attention to detail, clarity, and alignment to team goals.

  5. Experience with supporting at least one consumer technology product to consumer launch (including related project management, tooling support, timeline tracking, and launch execution).

  6. Demonstrated experience working in new technology areas, either through a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 3+ years industry experience with creating and managing consumer technology products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working with AR/VR project teams and development tools.

  2. Formal project management and/or sprint facilitation certification.

  3. Experience leading cross-functional teams of 15+ individuals.

  4. Strong interest and/or experience in the heritage product space.
