Help us build the Metaverse at Reality Labs group in Meta. Our goal is to establish a global-scale UGC platform that empowers creators, performers, and communities to connect and engage in unprecedented ways. As a Technical Artist, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative experiences, features, and technology to life. Required Skills:

Technical Artist, Metaverse Responsibilities:

  1. Find creative and technical solutions that eliminate difficult problems in our unique production environment.

  2. Educate XFN peers on digital content best practices and techniques.

  3. Be a communication bridge between Art, Design, Engineering, and Production.

  4. Quickly solve issues with cross-functional leads.

  5. Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and self-motivated environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience working independently and manage one’s time and tasks in an ambiguous environment.

  2. Effective communication and drafting skills. Communication across teams including engineers and artists.

  3. Must have experience using a professional game engine like Unity or Unreal.

  4. Experience with a high-level programming language such as Python, C#, and/or C++.

  5. Experience with 3D asset pipelines and digital content creation tools such as Blender, Maya, Houdini, Substance Painter, and Substance Designer.

  6. 5+ years industry experience within a Technical Artist position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Machine learning, and/or Generative AI workflows.

  2. Experience with procedural art packages such as Houdini

  3. Experience in character technologies, rigging, and animation

  4. Deep knowledge of low-level real-time graphics pipeline concepts.

  5. Being interested and informed about emerging technologies.

  6. Self-motivated, product thinking mindset.

  7. Experience shipping AR/VR applications.

  8. Partner closely with the engineering and design teams to develop content across a range of devices.

  9. Optimize content through enhancing performance and instructing the artists and designers on asset creation, modeling and texturing best practices.

Public Compensation:

$153,000/year to $212,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
