Summary:

We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to manage a team of engineers building the Operating System for revolutionary AR/VR consumer electronic devices. The ideal candidate has experience designing and developing connectivity systems software in operating systems, in addition to strong communication, organizational, cross-functional and people management skills.

Required Skills:

RL Connectivity Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Build and lead teams to deliver connectivity stack for world-class products.

  2. Integrate, customize, optimize connectivity stack across RL technology verticals.

  3. Collaborate across electrical, silicon, SW, user experience, and connectivity technology teams to define and build software components for RL products

  4. Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members and project peers.

  5. Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams

  6. Build tools and architectures to support technology experimentation across the company.

  7. Build development processes that allow for rapid development and experimentation while maintaining a high quality product.

  8. Understand and drive implementation of quality SW development practices across teams and projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. MS or BS in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent

  2. Working experience with using standard software development frameworks (Agile, Kanban, XP)

  3. Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/UDP/IP) and core concepts

  4. Experience working with remote teams.

  5. 10+ years expertise in developing and shipping connectivity solutions for consumer products

  6. 5+ years of experience in directly managing and leading teams.

  7. Experience building a team to scale across multiple products.

  8. Experience working with vendor provided solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with connectivity development on Linux or Android

  2. Experience building networking APIs, protocols, as well as performance optimizations of various networking layers

  3. Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices

  4. Hands-on coding experience with peripherals such as USB, SPI, MIPI CSI/DSI, I2C, UART, GPIO etc.

Public Compensation:

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
