Summary:

As a Product Design Prototyper on the Reality Labs team, you will be working on the cutting edge of Virtual and Augmented Reality experiences. With our team, you will explore, prototype, and build experiences that define the future of how people interact in AR/VR. Join a world-class team experimenting with bold ideas in areas including optics, haptics, tracking, displays, computer vision, user experience, audio, and perceptual psychology. Work alongside expert Scientists, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers and Software Engineers to create the technology that makes AR/VR pervasive and universal. Join the adventure of a lifetime as we make science fiction real and change the world.You’ll be responsible for researching, designing and prototyping interactions for FRL. You’ll work closely with engineers and researchers at Reality Labs.

Required Skills:

Product Design Prototyper, Reality Labs Responsibilities:

  1. Define and synthesize user requirements

  2. Help establish design processes to align cross-functional teams

  3. Contribute to strategic decisions, working with engineering and research teams

  4. Design and create user experience prototypes and individually contribute to the feature set

  5. Work with user research to user test and iterate on the prototypes

  6. Give and solicit feedback from others to raise the quality and craftsmanship of the product

  7. Partner with PMs, engineers, researchers and content designers, overseeing the implementation of the user experience

  8. Quickly solve issues with your cross-functional leads

  9. Clearly articulate design decisions to a vast set of internal stakeholders

  10. Help build product strategy

  11. Advocate for product design within Facebook

  12. Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of experience in shipping complex software products

  2. Design skills and the proven experience to lead in cross-functional environments

  3. Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods for user research

  4. Experience to think at a high level about product strategy and vision

  5. Portfolio featuring examples of interaction and visual work

  3. Experience with building prototypes in short timeframes

$196,000/year to $272,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
