Summary:

The Augmented Reality AI Org at Meta is seeking a strong technical leader to join our team and work on the next generation of AI Experiences on smart devices. As a technical leader in the team, you will play a critical role in building the core AI tech powering the experiences on Meta's Smart Glasses, AR Glasses and Quest devices. We have the opportunity to build the next computing platform powered by the latest and greatest AI technologies. Last year we launched the AI Assistant on Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, and we are working on making it a truly human-like Assistant that can see what you see and hear what you hear, helping users get things done in the most ubiquitous way.

Required Skills:

Engineering Manager, AI at Meta Responsibilities:

  1. Grow teams of AI and NLP experts

  2. Develop technical vision, long-term strategy and set direction for the team and the organization

  3. Drive execution of developing models and systems that are crucial to the end user experience

  4. Present the team's work and plans in cross-company executive forums

  5. Communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with clients and peer teams to facilitate cross-functional projects

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience and track of record in landing large product impacts in a fast-paced environment 5+ years of hands on experience in large language model, NLP, and/or multimodal modeling, in the setting of both research and engineering development

  2. 5+ years of hands on supporting and leading teams of software engineers and research scientists

  3. 2+ years of experience in building decent size organizations and supporting managers

  4. Experience in developing large-scale AI services

  5. Experience with cross functional collaboration with product and platform teams, as well as non-engineering functions

  6. Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, structuring, leading technical organizations, including performance management

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. PhD in deep learning, artificial intelligence, and/or related technical field

  2. Experience and knowledge of ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.

  3. Experience and knowledge of training and finetuning LLMs

  4. Experience and knowledge of multi-modal modeling and computer vision

Public Compensation:

$213,000/year to $293,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
