We are a team of world-class experts developing and shipping products at the intersection of hardware, software and content.The Developer Relations Engineering team is looking for an experienced games engineer with a history of shipping high quality titles for PC, console, and/or mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide breadth of disciplines, with an expertise in at least one specific area (networking, graphics, gameplay, etc...). In this role, you'll serve as a platform and game development expert to help guide development teams across the Reality Labs organization in implementing best practices and performance optimization. You'll also team with builders and developers outside the company looking to create high quality experiences on our platform.As a Software Engineer on our Developer Relations Engineering - Horizon team, you can help build the future of the metaverse and how people work, play and connect online.

Required Skills:

Developer Relations Engineer - Horizon Worlds Responsibilities:

  1. Provide guidance on best practices to development teams both inside and outside of Meta

  2. Partner closely with various infra and product teams across Meta on new and evolving APIs/features

  3. Assist partner teams across Reality Labs with code analysis and optimization

  4. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative AR/VR products

  5. Write high-quality, performant, and maintainable code

  6. Serve as an expert on Meta's platform (hardware and software) and provide that expertise to partner teams across the organization

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. 7+ years of software engineering experience in real-time gaming or 2+ years of software engineering experience with PhD

  3. 7+ years of experience with C/C++ programming

  4. 7+ years of object-oriented and component-based design experience

  5. Problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience delivering AAA Games, working on Graphics subsystems or the Game Engine AR/VR experience

  2. Knowledge of ray tracing, rasterization and linear algebra

  3. Experience with low level performance profiling and optimization

  4. Experience implementing 3D graphics features such as lighting, effects, shaders and other low-level systems

  5. Experience with tools such as Maya, Houdini, Blender, 3Ds Max, Arnold, RenderMan, or Cycles

  6. Experience with either DirectX/Vulkan/OpenGL/Metal

Public Compensation:

$177,008/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
