Required Skills:

Audio Research DSP Software Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, integrate, optimize and debug real-time AR and VR audio software for advanced prototypes and user experiences.

  2. Build tools, platforms, infrastructure and documentation that enable more efficient and effective research.

  3. Build a community of researchers and developers by sharing software engineering best practices, tips and techniques.

  4. Collaborate in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making the architectural trade offs required to rapidly deliver software solutions.

  5. Write clean readable code, debug complex problems that span systems, understand priorities and fulfill project needs efficiently.

  6. Learn constantly, build with inclusion as a core value, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem solving

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

  2. 4+ years of programming experience in C or C++, with a focus on Audio DSP

  3. Experience operating in a self-directed environment with multiple stakeholders across multiple teams

  4. Experience shipping multiple products on large code bases that span a range of platforms and tools

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Established track record of creating software for real-time environments such as video games

  2. Experience using game engines such as Unity or Unreal

  3. Experience working in AR/VR

  4. 3D mathematics and applied linear algebra

  5. Understanding of audio pipelines and digital signal processing

  6. Experience with Max/MSP, MATLAB, Audioweaver, or similar platforms

  7. Successfully driving and executing on research initiatives

Public Compensation:

$117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
