WILMINGTON BOX COMPANY (A CORP) CDL Driver in Burgaw, North Carolina

What Were Searching for:

At Hood Container Corporation, we are searching for someone with a can do attitude to join our Wilmington team as a CDL Driver - Class A / Warehouse Forklift Driver . In this role, you will need to be a self-starter with a desire to learn and develop your skills within the corrugated packaging industry. This role will report to the Shipping Manager of the plant.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Follows all company and DOT safety policies, procedures, and SOPs
  • Maintain all DOT driver requirements such as a valid license and Medical Examiners Certificate.
  • Obey all traffic laws, locally and nationally, and complies with scale requirements.
  • Reports any temporary physical or mental impairment that would impede safe operation of equipment.
  • Demonstrates patience, courtesy, cooperation, and professionalism while at the customers delivery site.
  • Demonstrates a high level of competency operating tractors with trailers up to 53, as well as other vehicles as assigned.
  • Identifies and reports mechanical or safety concerns with equipment during pre and post operation
  • Follows the designated routes as determined by the Fleet Dispatcher.
  • Verify the bill of lading for accuracy, ensures proof of delivery is returned to the facility.
  • Possesses good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Cooperates with all law enforcement or traffic officials.
  • Maintains interior of company vehicles.
  • Reports all accidents to supervisor immediately.
  • Exercises extra caution and situational awareness in adverse weather conditions, requests recovery operation when necessary.
  • Performs inter-warehouse transfer work as well as trailer yard movement activity as directed.

What it Takes:

Valid Class A CDL with at least three years of experience

Clean Motor Vehicle Record

Three or more years of experience preferred

On going random drug and alcohol screening as required by the FMCSA.

Lift up to 25 lbs. alone and 50 lbs. assisted.
