Position Summary

To supervise and instruct hot header, cold header, and trimmer personnel in getting best quality and maximum quantity of product in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner

Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Responsible for quality and quantity of product produced in header and trimmer departments

  • Train other production personnel as needed

  • Complete and process requisitions for materials required

  • Schedule work and operators to machinery

  • Interact with tool room supervisor tog et desired dimensions and troubleshoot tooling

  • Instruct operators on how to troubleshoot setup and machine malfunctions

  • Notify supervisors of any required machine repairs needed or unsafe working conditions

  • Motivate and discipline subordinates and enforce all company rules

  • Evaluate job applicants for open positions in the department

  • Evaluate and conduct reviews of current employees within the department

  • Review production paperwork before turning on to the production department coordinator for accuracy

  • Set up and run machinery as needed

  • Supervise and motivate employees in the heading department

    Required:

  • Mathematical Skills -Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry in day to day work

  • Reasoning Ability- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • Computer Skills -To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of inventory and manufacturing software

    Preferred:

  • Prior experience as a header man in a machine shop environment, preferably within the aerospace industry
