DePaul Supportive Housing Coordinator (Scattered Sites) in Buffalo, New York

Overview

DePaul is now hiring a full-time Supportive Housing Coordinator! The Coordinator of Supportive Housing (Scattered Sites) will be directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Erie & Niagara counties.

Responsibilities

  • Respects and maintains Residents’ rights and confidentiality and demonstrates a positive, caring attitude toward all residents, staff, guests, and service providers

  • Coordinate and complete the visitations and cleaning of the Respite / Emergency Housing Apartments.

  • Must be able to lift to 20lbs unassisted.

  • Assesses, evaluates, and conducts screening of potential clients for Respite/Emergency housing.

  • Organize and keep records of inventory needed for Respite/Emergency housing beds.

  • Assist in training all Supportive Housing staff.

  • Assist tenants in securing a safe and affordable apartment of their choice.

  • Provide support to the tenant with establishing and maintaining utilities.

  • Provide support and assistance to the tenant to complete linkages in the community to encourage and maintain independence.

  • Assist with interviews of prospective staff in conjunction with the Director.

  • Document all visits and client contacts in the tenant’s record for both SH and respite.

  • Provide teaching, monitoring and recovery-oriented supports as needed in the areas associated with living independently.

  • Work with tenant and their service providers to provide regular ongoing support.

  • Collects monthly statistical data on all tenants and respite and report that information to the Director.

  • Works with the Director to build relationships with the Community Service Providers (ex; attend SPOA, Interagency, etc.).

  • Adheres to program budgets and ensures that all requests for program spending is complete and accurate.

  • Respects and maintains resident confidentiality and demonstrates a caring, positive attitude toward all residents, staff, guests, and service providers.

  • Ensure that all Supportive Housing staff practices person-centered practices and demonstrates a positive, caring demeanor when working with tenants.

  • Assist with regular staff meetings, review of Support Plans.

  • Follows all safety rules and regulations for self and others including the provision of two person visits when indicated.

  • Ensure that all new tenants apply for HUD/Section 8 housing.

  • Performs any other duties necessary for the effective and efficient operation of program.

Qualifications

Preferably a 4-year degree in Human Services and at least one year related supervisory experience or a combination of education and experience, which meets QMHS status as defined by OMH

*In addition to the above criteria, this position also requires a clean NYS driving record as outlined in DePaul’s personnel policy. The use of one’s personal vehicle is also a requirement.

Work Environment

This position is Monday-Friday.
