Overview

The Soccer Head Coach-Mentor will lead players in grades K-8 through a non-competitive, youth development program to help children establish healthy habits and develop critical life skills. The Head Coach-Mentor will run practices and games based on the provided social emotional curriculum.

Qualifications
  • Previous coaching experience required.
  • Knowledge of soccer, sports, or youth development preferred.
  • Passion for urban education, health education, youth development and sports.
  • Excellent people skills in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with staff, site coordinators, parents, and players.
  • Ability to motivate others around you and work as part of a team.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship.
  • Must have access to reliable means of transportation.
  • Proven examples of displaying the IH values: Passionate, Caring, Respectful, Trustworthy, Collaborative and Accountable.

Essential Accountabilities
  • Lead soccer practices three times per week for 75 minutes each day, for a 10-12-week session.
  • Prepare for and ensure understanding of curriculum for each practice session.
  • Manage issued equipment and assist with bringing equipment to and from location as needed.
  • Take daily attendance.
  • Attend all required trainings prior to coaching and stay in compliance with certifications including but not limited to U.S. Foundation Curriculum training, CDC Heads Up Concussion training and SafeSport training.
  • Attend all special events (End of Season Party, etc.).
  • Communicate any issues/concerns regularly with Site Manager and Program Manager(s).
  • Abide by organizational guidelines, schedules and site policies including submitting incident report forms as needed.
  • Be active on Sling, reading all pertinent updates, clocking in and out, and communicating with your site group.
  • Provide motivating and encouraging environment for players.
  • Assist with data gathering as requested.

Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.

In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
