ASR Group/Domino Sugar Shipping/Receiving Clerk in Buffalo, New York

OVERVIEW

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, prepares items for shipment, receives inbound shipment, and stocks the warehouse.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

  • Operates tow motor or pallet jack to move shipments from shipping and receiving platform to warehouse or work area; unload inbound material from vehicles, load outbound material into vehicles.

  • Enthusiastically executes ASR safety program requirements.

  • Prepares and affixes shipping labels (LTL) on packed skids.

  • Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.

  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

  • Responsible for proper storage of packaging supplies and finished goods in the warehouse

  • Log inbound deliveries from UPS and Couriers (Fed Ex, Airborne, etc.)

  • Prepare Bills of Lading (BOL) and labels.

  • Examines incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure all items have been correctly packaged, are free of obvious damage, paperwork and labels are correct, and all processing has been completed per company and customer requirements.

  • Perform finished goods and supplies inventory on a quarterly basis or as needed.

  • Work effectively and ensure that food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality are maintained.

  • Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.

  • All other duties as assigned

    WORK EXPERIENCES

  • 1-2 years in an industrial manufacturing and/or warehouse environment preferred

  • Prior forklift or tow motor experience preferred. Ability to be certified is required.

  • Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
