Position Summary:

The University at Buffalo School of Nursing (https://nursing.buffalo.edu/) ( SON ) invites applications for full-time, pre-tenure track mentored Research Assistant Professor faculty positions. The SON encourages applications from candidates prepared to contribute through research, teaching, and service to a diverse and inclusive community.

The SON is one of five health science schools in the University and offers degrees at the BS, DNP and PhD levels. The SON is aggressively building its research enterprise, as well as growing and restructuring its stellar academic programming.

School of Nursing researchers are generating new knowledge in the areas of health promotion, addictions, health disparities, adolescent risk behaviors, oncology, sleep, palliative care, reproductive/maternal health, informatics and care transitions, among others. We welcome other programs of research to expand our current capacity.

Major areas of responsibility include:

  • Developing, building and implementing a program of research to qualify for a tenure-track assistant professor position with up to three years of support

  • Contribute to teaching nursing at the undergraduate and graduate level

  • Engaging in school, university, and community professional service

  • Building a network of colleagues to support a funded program of research
