Florida Crystals Corporation Quality Assurance Technician (3rd Shift) in Buffalo, New York

OVERVIEW

The Quality Assurance Tech conducts chemical and physical laboratory tests of solid materials and liquids, and analyzes test data. The Tech will also perform routine Quality Audits of the Quality System, Manufacturing Process, and Facility. Investigates non-conforming materials and issues Holds, provides support for disposition of Held materials. Reviews completed records for conformance to GMP and GLP documentation requirements.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sets up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control.

  • Tests and analyzes materials used as ingredients in processes and products.

  • Tests samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.

  • Documents results of tests and analyses on standardized forms, writes test reports, and prepares graphs and charts.

  • Performs routine quality inspections of the manufacturing facility.

  • Cleans, calibrates, and operates test equipment.

  • Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas.

  • Participate in ASR’s laboratory proficiency program.

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • 2+ years in a Quality or Lab position in a manufacturing facility preferred, preferably food manufacturing

  • Prior experience with FDA or BRC compliance preferred

  • Experience conducting internal quality audits preferred

  • Experience working with minimal to no supervision required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED); or equivalent experience as determined by HR required

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a similar field preferred

  • Strong critical reasoning skills with the ability to identify and solve problems.

  • Microsoft Office and PC skills required

  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

SHIFT SCHEDULE:

  • 3rd shift, 10pm-6:30am Monday-Friday, with weekend and overtime required based on business needs.

  • There is a $1.50 shift differential for 3rd shift.

PAY RATE: $20.00-24.20
