M&T Bank Product Manager IV - Operational Subledgers in Buffalo, New York

Overview:

The Product Manager – Operational Subledgers position partners with the Controller’s department to identify necessary capabilities that drive business outcomes in service of Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and Project Accounting, and works in partnership across the organization to support the delivery of those capabilities. The Product Capability Manager champions efforts through a cross functional team that provides capability expertise, leveraging industry best practices for wide-scale usability. They capture high level business requirements and translate into user stories, such that delivery teams can convert to executable deliverables. They work with business leaders and subject matter experts to ensure continual improvements and enhancements to overall systems that support our customers while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Responsible for providing the strategic direction for multiple product and/or services for the Finance Division. Designs product, develops strategies & goals, and assures successful implementation; monitors the achievement of such goals. Formulates and implements policy and procedures. Ensures that application of M&T leadership, values, and commitment through direct and indirect managers. May have profit/loss responsibility for the product.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sets strategic direction for assigned product lines and presents business plans to senior management and employees.

  • Directly responsible for product pricing, cost structure, as well as product risk. Responsible for all product financials including revenue planning and product profitability.

  • Responsible for sales channel strategy. Reviewing, evaluating and recommending new services, new products, or the modification of existing services or products. Evaluate new product/services success; implement and manage changes in service strategy.

  • Manage all aspects of new product implementation and existing product modification to include but not limited to the design & development of services and process improvements; act in a liaison capacity with affected departments.

  • Maintain an awareness of new trends and developments in products and services. Develop and provide ongoing group and individual training for staff in regard to product knowledge and best practices and procedures.

  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years’ proven product management, financial, operations and/or project management experience, OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 14 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 10 years’ proven product management, financial, operations and/or project management experience.

  • Audit or Finance experience

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Product experience (requirements gathering, business process management, change management, application specific experience such as end-user or solution designer)

  • Oracle Cloud Services financial applications experience

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $118,945.80 - $198,243.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
