SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:

The Nurse Manager in conjunction with the Director of Physical Health Integration and Nursing Services is responsible for overseeing the nursing department within all clinic locations to insure that CCBHC/OMH/OASAS regulations are fully met. The Nurse Manager collaborates with the Director of Physical Health Integration and Nursing Services in implementing and oversight of policy, procedure, and workflows of agency protocols.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals, families, staff, and community contacts from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

  • Collaborates with Director of Physical Health Integration and Nursing Services on agency nursing staff including oversight of the nursing team’s schedules to meet programmatic needs.

  • Complete evaluations for new and existing staff.

  • Interviewing and hiring staff as necessary. Ensuring that all forms required for onboarding staff have been completed and that staff has been supplied with all needed materials necessary to due job effectively.

  • Provides new department staff with EHR training specific to nursing.

  • Provides continual oversight and ensure members of the team are meeting CCBHC/OASAS/OMH requirements and to exceed those standards wherever possible and practical.

  • Provides oversight and assists with implementation of performance-based measures.

  • Monitor nursing workflows to ensure necessary data is being collected for increased quality outcomes.

  • Ensure the integrated health practices and nursing services offered across the agency are clear, consistent, and meaningful for those served in order to achieve optimal physical health and independence.

  • Ensure staffing spread across multiple sites are implementing and adhering to standardized practices within their scope of practice.

  • Assesses and proposes processes which will streamline medical and clinical operations.

  • Serves as liaison between nursing staff, physicians and nurse practitioners in assuring clinical needs are met or addressed.

  • Performs general nursing duties as required to ensure all clinic needs are being met. To include health assessments, check in’s, injections and other nursing services.

  • Administering first aid as indicated, responding to, and intervening in any physical accident or medical emergencies and completing required reports as needed.

  • Attends to special projects as directed.

  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively use technology and appropriate use of support.

  • Assure documentation is completed accurately and within time frame according to established policy.

  • Presents to various clinic locations routinely and as needed to provide supervision, oversite and support.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Health Assessments including metabolic, cardiac and impact of trauma, dual diagnoses, etc.

  • Familiarity and experience with psychiatric medications

  • IM’s, blood draws, response to medical or psychiatric emergencies

  • Group and individual service provision

  • Admission assessments

  • Crisis intervention

  • CPR/First Aid

  • EMR Proficient

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing

  • PLUS New York State Registered Nurse license required

    EXPERIENCE:

  • Four years clinical experience preferred.

    Must possess a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

    COMPENSATION: $68,500 - $87,300/yr with a $2,500 sign-on-bonus
