Title: Model Risk Analyst - ValidationJob Location: One M&T Plaza, Buffalo, NY 14203DESCRIPTION:Duties: Contribute to a Model Risk Management team, responsible for providing controls and governance over the development, execution, and maintenance of models in conjunction with independent model validation to mitigate the risks inherent in the use of models; use SAS, R, Python, or MATLAB to develop model analytics; extract and analyze data from source systems for use in model validations; review and validate models used across the Bank for capital stress testing, risk measurement and prediction, pricing, profitability, credit loss forecasting, wealth management, marketing, compliance, profitability and management decision making, and other functions as needed; collaborate with the team lead or manager to validate complex models; conduct full and targeted scope validations, assessments of model performance, and evaluations of finding remediations; review development and execution codes; research and evaluate each models theory and design; conduct independent analyses of model assumptions and outcomes; determine impact of model deficiencies and limitations; review model documentation; perform independent testing and benchmarking when applicable; product reports, memos, and presentations of reviews performed; develop ad hoc processes to address efficiency gains; and engage with regulators and audit teams during process reviews.QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in mathematics, statistics, quantitative finance, economics, any engineering or a related quantitative field. Candidates must have knowledge of: performing regression analyses; using SAS, R, Python, or MATLAB to develop model analytics; reading and analyzing data; and building models based on analytic results.
