Position Title:Math Professor to the HEOP Program

Office:Canisius Opportunity Programs for Education (COPE)

Reports To:Academic Support Services Coordinator and HEOP Program

Date:2024 Summer Semester

Primary Purpose: This position is responsible for providing engaging, creative, and interactive instruction and coursework to HEOP pre-freshman students, during a 4-week summer program, who received a New York state high school diploma. The instruction provides developmental and remedial support designed to prepare students for college-level course work.

Job Duties:

  • Being available to teach a math course 5 days a week, Monday – Friday.

  • Providing a syllabus that includes topics being taught during the summer program.

  • Attending weekly staff meetings with the HEOP team and other professors from the program.

  • Providing weekly grades and behavioral reports during the staff meetings.

  • Providing a final exam and a final grade for the students at the end of the summer program.

  • Attending faculty orientation.

Start Date:July 10, 2024

End Date:August 2, 2024

Pay:$3000 stipend for the summer.

Hours:10 hours per week.
