Job Information

New Era LLC Manager, Quality: North America/EMEA in Buffalo, New York

The Quality Manager: North America/EMEA will work closely with the Global Quality Director, Raw Materials Group, Business Units, and Returns Team, to develop and maintain processes that ensure all New Era products meet required performance standards, global governmental product safety standards. They oversee Global Quality data collection processes, metrics, and regional quality returns and chargeback processes. The scope of this position will include products produced by all New Era divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Quality Director, HQ and EMEA teams to ensure all product materials meet New Era and governmental product safety standards required by the region in which the product is being sold

  • Manages execution of quarterly hazardous material testing, to include CPSIA, PROP 65, REACH, and will keep updated of shifting regulatory changes

  • Through organization involvement and research, stays apprised of updates to new governmental product safety requirements that impact New Era products

  • Manages execution of quarterly hazardous material testing, to include CPSIA, PROP 65, REACH, etc

  • Oversees maintenance of quality database and KPI and facilitates Gold/Silver/Bronze Program execution and works closely with Quality Director to drive improvement and attain goals

  • Develop and maintain an appropriate method/system of document control and revisions for items such as vendor compliance manuals, qc manuals, drawings, CPSIA certificates, and other pertinent documents

  • Facilitates timely resolution to regional quality issues by working closely with regions and business units, global sourcing, and vendors as needed

  • Works with Customers and production group to ensures customer specific testing requirements are executed and communicated to appropriate parties within designated in timeframe

  • Acts as reference to internal partners such as business units, product development, production and sourcing as well as external supplies and labs for all product performance and product testing related issues and requests for claim substantiation or performance attributes

  • Review an input for onboarding customer’s quality compliance requirements

  • Will work with quality and other groups to review existing and develop new quality manuals, procedures, and documents as needed

  • Will keep informed of changes global/regional product labelling requirements and testing requirement changes and ensure compliance across product range

  • Oversees Corporate Quality AP processing

  • Leads, coaches and develops direct reports

  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality process and best practices within a manufacturing environment – preferably in apparel / textiles

  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality process and best practices within a purchased finished good environment

  • Process improvement through method improvement and leveraging technology

  • Solid knowledge of product testing and governmental product safety standards

  • Experience in identification and implementation of quality system enhancements

  • Demonstrated ability to employ analytical and critical thinking

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data resulting in reports and presentations that communicate quality information required to make relevant business decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Able to provide feedback, coach, motivate and develop others

  • Positive attitude, high level of energy, clear sense of urgency and direction

  • Able to think through the details and contingencies resulting in sound business decisions

  • Articulate and able to clearly communicate objectives and strategies to internal and external partners at all levels of the organization.

  • Commitment to continuous learning regarding Quality Systems best practices through reading, seminars and ongoing education.

  • Strong MS Office skills - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in related technical or business field required; experience in lieu of degree may be considered

  • Six Sigma Certification preferred

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in in quality testing field

Travel

  • Up to 10% International travel possible

The salary range for this posted position is $70,000 - $90,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
