Summary:

The Instructional Design and Online Learning Specialist position is responsible for supporting the Manager, Instructional Design and Online Learning with the development, implementation and evaluation of programs and systems which facilitate and enhance professional practice. This is achieved through integrating evidence based practice and research into clinical practice and leading various projects that support professional development. The Specialist will be an educational resource person relative to theory and practice of educational methodology and will provide education when needed. Additionally, the Specialist is responsible for overseeing the development of new course builds within the learning management system based upon approved content that is provided by Subject Matter Experts. This position is best suited to someone who prefers a fast-paced environment, adapts to change and seeks to actively develop new skills and grow in understanding of learning and technology.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in Instructional Design or Educational Technology or other related educational field required; degree must be granted by an accredited school

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in educational program administration performing needs analysis, implementing training interventions, and measuring results; experience working with adult learners

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience creating and delivering training; demonstrated knowledge of multiple delivery modalities: web-based, classroom, multi-media use, learning management systems, presentation management software (i.e. Articulate) and self-paced eLearning

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Possesses knowledge and full understanding of adult learning strategies

  • Ability to work with subject matter experts to craft educational presentations using classroom and distance learning technologies

  • Ability to train in a variety of settings with different type of adult learning situations

  • Demonstrated ability determining content and outcome-appropriate training delivery modalities

  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills

  • Solid PC skills utilizing Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel software applications

  • Demonstrated skills using Articulate, Photoshop and/or other relevant production software, video editing software, and Learning Management Systems

  • Ability to create engaging learning activities and compelling course content

  • Ability to be self-directed and independently manage multiple educational projects and initiatives

  • Has meticulous attention to detail and champions new technology

  • Ability to travel between the various CH sites; occasional weekend and evening work schedules required

  • Carry equipment/supplies from one facility to another
