Position Summary:

The School of Social Work (https://socialwork.buffalo.edu/) seeks a Field Education Coordinator who will work collaboratively with the Field Education team to deliver field education curriculum, with primary responsibilities in the online MSW program. This position requires an individual who has experience developing and maintaining community partnerships, enjoys learning and implementing new technology, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Interview, assess, and assign online MSW students to field placements in their region

  • Provide faculty liaison duties for specified group of students by conducting field visits and ensuring field placement requirements are met

  • Identify and develop new field placement sites

  • Use field placement software to communicate with specified group of students and to match students with field placement sites

  • Collaborate in the planning and implementation of field education events

Minimum Qualifications:

Master of Social Work ( MSW ) degree with 1 year of related professional social work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals at a distance through virtual meeting platforms

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to learn and use student placement software

  • Experience with fostering and maintaining community partnerships

  • Knowledge of and experience with experiential learning

  • Experience with conflict resolution and problem solving
