Kenmore Tonawanda UFSD Automotive Mechanic - FT, Core - Transportation in Buffalo, New York

Hours : 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week) - Core Duty Schedule

Duties of Assignment: Work under the direct supervision of the automotive mechanic crew chief or other supervisory employee responsible for automotive maintenance. Perform skilled work in the repair and maintenance of equipment including cars, buses, trucks, off-road equipment and a wide variety of related equipment. Receive written and/or oral instructions as to the necessary repair work, which is reviewed while in progress or after completion. Must be able to drive a bus on an as-needed basis. Special Qualifications: Knowledge of NYS Department of Transportation regulations with respect to school bus maintenance, inspection and operation procedures. Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License, with P & S endorsement within 6 months of employment and a valid NYS Department of Motor Vehicle Inspection License for light and heavy-duty vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or vocational school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of experience as a journeyman automotive mechanic; OR seven (7) years of experience as a journeyman automotive mechanic; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of both.
