Hanes Supply Inc. Accounts Payable Associate in Buffalo, New York

Position Summary: Reviews invoices for accuracy and completeness. Sorts documents by account name or number and processes invoices for payment. May perform other basic clerical duties associated with accounts payable.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Observes all safety procedures, rules and regulations, and instruction in performance of job duties.- Operates computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and/or analyze information.- Complies with all federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.- Work in conjunction with AI that enters invoices to make sure they are updated for weekly check run- Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.- Must help match checks with backup to get proper signature and prepare to be mailed out.- Answers vendor inquiries; enters invoices from all vendors with open and closed purchase orders.- Maintains some accounts payable reports and spreadsheets- Manage the Accounts Payable Email on a daily basis- Review statements and contact vendors for missing items.- Enter new vendors and update Accounts Payable contact information in the system.- Acts as back-up to Accounts Payable Lead, must cross-train to learn all check runs- Prepare spreadsheet for Use tax- Required to learn phone system and help answer phones when necessary.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:An individual should demonstrate the following competencies to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.- Must have strong analytical skills and math aptitude.- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook and the Internet are required.- Must be resourceful, well organized, dependable, detail oriented, and efficient with the ability to multitask and prioritize work.- Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.Level of Education and Experience:- Must have a high school diploma or equivalency; prefer one to two years’ experience working in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable or similar type occupation.Physical Demands:The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
