Cedar Fair Food & Beverage - Team Leader in BUENA PARK, California

Overview:

$18.56 / hour

Team Leaders are responsible for overseeing the operation which includes training, directing, motivating, evaluating and disciplining associates. In this position you must maintain appropriate food cost and labor levels by continuously evaluating and adjusting to business needs, complete frequent inventory and stocking of product, maintain cleanliness. You may occasionally prepare and serve drinks and food items to park guests and operate cash registers while providing quality service in a clean, safe atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and ensure grooming guideline requirements are being met.

  • Complete miscellaneous administrative paperwork and attendance.

  • Interact with and assist associates and guests in an outgoing, friendly, versatile, flexible and professional manner; answer questions, ensure quality service and resolve complaints; oversee set up, clean up and some food preparation for the entire operation. Occasionally take proper payment and make change for food and beverage items using a cash register.

  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards. Review the work of subordinates for effectiveness, make recommendations as appropriate, utilize active training techniques to encourage participation, test for understanding and respond appropriately to distractions, disruptions and challenging situations.

  • Learn full menu and beverages, portions, garnishes and prices; expertly recommend and up-sell items.

  • Learns, understands and demonstrate proficiency in operational tasks, service/production flow, equipment cleaning and usage and menu items in the location. Uses clear, concise and specific lines of communication between management and associates.

  • Ability to quickly transport hot pans and plates of food in order to maintain sufficient food levels.

  • Work directly with the kitchen personnel for any product shortages as well as special orders from our guests.

  • Work with Area Supervisors to ensure staffing needs for assigned location are met and in compliance with Minor Labor Laws.

  • Oversee cash control in the stand and with Resale Loss Prevention to maintain accurate cash records and decrease register variance.

  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.

  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area by squeegeeing floors, wiping off counters, sweeping, empting trash and completing other general cleaning duties; performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.

  • Meets Cedar Fair’s attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair’s attendance policies.

  • Adheres to Cedar Fair’s Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Associate Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Mandatory completion of Basic Food Safety & Sanitation Training, ServSafe Training and ServSafe Alcohol as provided to obtain certification(s). This may involve verbal, written and/or practical tests.

  • Ability to comply with all company, divisional and state laws in regard to minor labor laws.

  • Ability to demonstrate park knowledge and its procedures, specifically the Food & Beverage Division.

  • Previous Food & Beverage experience preferred.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work with associates, guests and supervision in a positive, productive and professional manner.

  • Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Utilize problem solving skills including having the ability to remain patient, poised and alert to cope with challenging/unique situations.

  • Work collaboratively in a team setting and independently.

  • Ability to complete daily tasks without constant supervision.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
