We are inviting you to join Howden and become a trusted and valued member of our Financial Accounting team, which is based in the Budapest Shared Service Centre. As a part of this vital team, you will have the opportunity to report to the Assistant Treasurer – Global Operations, the Treasury and take the lead on all Trade Finance related tasks and be a key business partner to the wider Chart business. The role will give the right candidate the opportunity to develop Chart’s Trade Finance capabilities to be best in class. Performing daily/weekly/monthly reconciliation tasks and investigating/correcting discrepancies

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Drive strategy and execution of Trade Finance solutions to support the company’s overall business strategy, including bank guarantees, letters of credit, surety bonds, and parent company guarantees.

  • Review, model, and execute a strategy to support the issuance of Bank Guarantee, Letter of Credit and Export trade facilities across the Chart business globally. To include:

  • Work with Chart’s bank group to ensure credit lines are sufficient to support future issuance needs.

  • Source additional credit facilities as required.

  • Work with Legal department on contractual agreements.

  • Develop a clear application and escalation process and ensure compliance from the Chart business and banks.

  • Develop dashboards to support tracking and external reporting of instruments.

  • Manage quarterly fee recharge process.

  • Be the main point of contact for all Trade Finance questions internally and externally. Serve as a key contact for banks, insurance brokers, auditors, Chart business units. etc.…

  • Work with Operational Finance leads to review Trade Credit Insurance requirements. Be the lead for Treasury in this area.

  • Develop robust treasury processes and controls, ensure global adherence.

  • Explore possibilities of utilising systems to support management of Trade Finance.

  • Support KYC requests from banks.

  • Support Treasury team with ad-hoc projects.

  • Be support/cover for other areas of Treasury as required

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.

  • CTP/ACT certification Preferable.

  • 5+ years of experience, with a minimum of 3 years working extensively with Bank Guarantees, Letters of Credit, and other Trade Finance products.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing Trade facilities across the globe and supporting multiple business units across many different geographies.

  • Experience working for a U.S. HQ business would be an advantage.

  • Excellent analytical skills, people skills, oral and written communication skills, and presentation skills.

  • In-depth understanding of treasury function and connectivity to key stakeholders such as accounting, tax, and legal.

  • Ability to effectively influence leaders at all levels.

  • Intellectual curiosity and desire drive continuous improvement.

  • Strong attention to detail, and a hands-on “roll up your sleeves” approach.
