Ensuring Chart’s Success…

The main role purpose would be focused on supporting the Financial Accounting Manager with respect to maintaining the effectiveness of the controls and operating procedures, coaching and supporting other team members actively, managing a part of the Howden accounting team (8-12 people) and supporting the management reporting activities. Make sure that Financial Accounting related tasks being processed an accurate and timely manner, by following the process documentations, company policies, GAAP rules and instructions given by Global Finance, Business Units and Management.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

People management:

  • Manage a part of the Howden financial accounting team (8-12 people)

  • Act as a coach and support the personal development of the team members

  • Communicate with the team and with the team members via 1:1 discussions frequently

  • Be role model for FA team members in all sense

  • Manage the employee lifecycle (Recruitment, Immersio, Target Setting and Evaluation, Career Plans) and support the individual growth and development

Operation:

  • Ensure continuous process improvement in the Howden accounting function, manage the required changes in a timely and effective manner

  • elivering ideas for standardisation and process improvement – both within Financial Accounting Team and across SSC

  • Build strong partnership with various business partners to achieve high level of customer satisfaction among internal customers

  • Assist in successful task and process migrations from the Business Units to the SSC

  • Maintain the effectiveness of the controls, make sure that company policies and procedure are followed, ensure full compliance with SOX requirements

  • Control process documentations – make sure that they are up to date

  • Contact and inform/communicate with colleagues within SSC, Global Finance and Business Units

  • Coordinate the team members

  • Organize substitution within the team and within Financial Accounting Team

  • Make sure that workload is levelled within the team, responsibilities and tasks fit to the employee ability skillset

  • Monitor the team’s performance – quality and quantity

  • Control the workload and overtime

  • Make sure that tasks are performed timely and accurately as per agreed KPI and SLA

  • Allocate work, complete reporting tasks

  • Review and approval of journal bookings and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Processing Payments Approvals in e-banking systems

  • Coordination of on-boarding process and supporting new joiners

  • Lead/participate in projects

  • High level issue resolution

  • Substitution of the Financial Accounting Manager

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • College or University degree in Finance and equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of people management experience (managing a team of minimum 3-5 people)

  • 5+ years of experience in Finance

  • Fluent English knowledge is required, any additional European language is a plus

  • Experience in SSC environment

  • ERP knowledge is an advantage
