Who We Are: Hord Farms is a diversified farming operation in North-Central Ohio currently farming over 8,500 acres of corn, beans, wheat, and barley, in addition to raising pigs and cattle. Our Hord Livestock division is now seeking to add an assistant to our Commercial Cattle Feeding Operation.  This position offers full training, so while experience is preferred, it is not required.  A Day in the Life: This key, entry-level position, works 1st shift (50 hours/week + every 3^rd^ weekend) and is responsible for the daily care of all cattle, walking pens daily to check health status of all animals, assisting with vaccinations and implantation, sorting cattle for market; and assisting with power washing, routine maintenance, and repairs. The ideal candidate will have the desire to work with cattle, a willingness to learn, a high level of dependability as evidenced with a solid work history, and a proven record of drive for excellence. Experience feeding with a TMR, operating a pay loader and skid steer are preferred, but not required. What You Need:

  • Candidates must not currently own or have routine contact with non-Hord pigs.
  • Display a high level of respect to team members and animals
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, physically strenuous environment
  • Impeccable record of reliability/dependability 
  • Willingness to learn and carry out complex instructions effectively
  • Willingness to work every 3rd weekend (weekend hours are slightly shorter than normal hours)
